There is a buzz in the air at La Tercera
The STEM focus at La Tercera Elementary has created quite a buzz around town as many new families seek hands-on learning for their child. On May 10th that buzz grew even louder as the Planet Bee Foundation provided hands-on bee basics curriculum to all 3rd-5th graders. Planet Bee is a local foundation dedicated to engaging and empowering students of all ages to take action to help struggling pollinator populations. When students see bees up close, curiosity sparks, fear fades and gardens become ecological playgrounds.

La Tercera Students victorious at the Science Olympiad
After months of practice, thinking, laughter, and collaboration the La Tercera Science Olympiad Team competed at the Sonoma County Science Olympiad Competition at Lawrence Jones Middle School on Saturday, April 16. Coaches, Kim Anselmi and Kristy Corbett, were proud of the students’ commitment to extended learning for 15 weeks after school. We came home with a 3rd place victory in Investigations and a 1st place win in the Egg Drop. All team members represented the integrity of La Tercera with their respectful behavior and support of one another. Great job, LT eagles!
